About Chota Mangwa

Chota Mangwa is a small farming village on Mangwa hill, about 35 km from Darjeeling town, looking down over the Teesta valley. It is best known for its orange orchards. From around November to January the trees are heavy with fruit, and that is when most visitors come.

The village faces the hills of Kalimpong and Sikkim across the river. On a clear day you can even see the Char Dham statue at Namchi. It is far quieter than Darjeeling or Lamahatta, and that is exactly what people come here for.
